What a fantastic idea. An easy 5.5km jog through the streets of Paris starting from the UNESCO building to the Marathon Finish line. As I left the hotel I was staying at for the past few days I discovered that it is still dark at 7.00 am.
A quick coffee on the go and on the metro to transfer my gear to the new hotel. Made it to the start with 10 minutes to spare. It is so fantastic to be running again. I think I bolted like a gazelle from the hotel after I dropped my gear. I ran so free and easy and with the Arc de Triomphe around the corner from the hotel, I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming. 
The fun run itself was a casual jog with lots of laughing and joking. I met only two other Aussies - one is running his first marathon here. Also briefly introduced myself to the Courir de Monde runners. I now regretting I did not do more homework in my French classes at school! Great temperature for running. This country suits me fine it is the only place I have run where the first refreshment offered after the run is a cup of coffee. Sweet - tomorrow promises to be fantastic.
